Show 'i 1 V I. if -r JAZZ ENSEMBLE During the past week the Woods Cross Jazz Ensemble performed at the Region Four Jazz Festival. The festival was held at Viewmont and featured bands from Viewmont, Woods Cross, East, Highland and Davis high schools. The Woods Cross group scored highest, thus qualifing them for the April Utah State Jazz Festival. Fes-tival. Viewmont's jazz ensemble, ensem-ble, under the direction of Mike Murphy, also qualified for state. THE WOODS Cross band also performed at the second annual University of Utah Jazz Ensembles. The Woods Cross Jazz Ensemble was awarded the first place trophy at this competiton and also awards for the best saxophone and rhythm sections. Members of the rhythm section sec-tion include Greg Campbell, Danny Lewis, Debbie Calli-cotte, Calli-cotte, Davin Tayler, Steve Neilson, Andre Litster, Cari Arnett, Roger Harrison. Top Woods Cross High School's Jazz Ensemble performed recently at the Region Four Jazz Festival and the University Univer-sity of Utah Jazz Ensemble, En-semble, placing first and second respectively. saxophone section include: Darin Moss, Russell Robinson, Robin-son, Dave Price, Jeff Simon, Travis McBeth and Jed Van-demerwe. Van-demerwe. OTHER BAND members include in-clude Steve Lewis, Mike Lee, Paul Hales, Kenny Hicks, Dave Cook, James Hanson, Jon Briscoe and Alan Call. Stephen Richins directs the Woods Cross High instrumental instrumen-tal music department. |
