Show A BRIDE OF A WEEK A dispatch from Lebanon Ohio Bays Quite ftienwtion was produced in some circles of aooiey this week by the elopement on Teueday morning of the bride of a week with an old admirer ad-mirer James Frazier a diminutive little fellow not more than five feet in height courted a darkeyed damsel dam-sel named Martha Mosgrove and on Tueseday evening thoy were married by B T Brown Justice of the peace The newfywedded couple went to live with a relative of the brides residing re-siding on West street in a humble dwelling that face the old Baptist graveyard in the western part of the town Dim as the new benedict was familiarly called by hie associates seemed to look upon his new condition condi-tion in life with a feeling of some responsibility re-sponsibility for no sooner was he installed in-stalled in the home 01 his blushing bride than he was seen to carry great basketfoJls of provisions to the house thereby giving the lie to the sometimes some-times accepted belief that two souls with but a single thought and two hearts that beat as one can for any length of time flourish like the green bay tree in summer time on love alone The honeymoon of this couple was to the outside world as free from all disturbing influences apparently as any honeymoon could be Dim seemed happy rnd joyous basking in the sunshine of her sweet smiles whom he had sworn to love and protect pro-tect Suddenlyhoweverlike the light nings flash athwart a clear eky all his happiness was changed to woe and misery On last Tuesday just one week from the day they were married she told Jimmy ahe wanted to go to Franklin to visit relatives The unsuspecting un-suspecting husband acquiesced in her desire and although reluctant to be deprived of her society fox even one short dayordered the hack around for her departure The hank running between be-tween Lebanon and Franklin started out aboutsiz oclock in the morning morn-ing and returning arrives about the same time in the evening The husband hus-band bid the wife an affectionate goodby admonishing her no doubt to be sure and return in the evening She is off and while he is standing at the gate watching her retreating form as the hack gradually disappeared i disap-peared they exchange salutations Uby throwing kisses by the hand At last she la out of sight and Dim hastens in his exultation over the possession of such a loving companion compan-ion to beguile away the tedious hours that would bang heavy on his hands until her return in the evening Soon he was plunged into the wildest grief and mortification His wife that had parted from him an hour ago with all the manifestations of the deepest affection for him had proven false He was informed that when the hack reached Red Lion a little village midway between Lebanon and Franklin a email smoothfaced redheaded fellow got on and seemed perfectly delighted to see Mrs Frazier Fra-zier who also in turn appeared to be very happy indeed to meet the redheaded fellow Dim was almost al-most frantio when he received the news aad ruahing to the livery stable obtained a rig and was quickly on hU way to Franklin in his ohlle after a wife The hack arrived before be-fore him and the runaway couple got on the train for Dayton The brokenhearted man then telegraphed tele-graphed to that city to have them arrested Receiving no answer he returned to Lebanon in the evening Since then he has been trying to raise mouey to follow them Last night he had a negotiable order from a railroad man and it is supposed bat by tbi time Dim is on the track of his eloping wife It i3 i said bat the man who got on the hack and went 08 with ber to Dayton was to have married her the day after she was married t3 Frazier The mans name is Thompson He is a former lover of the girls and during the summer visited her frequently but of late has been rather negligent so much eo that she thought he had played ofi on her The runway bride is described as a woman about eigteen years of age medium size with dark complexion hair and eyes |
