Ledingham, and William Hardy followed as the next fire chief. These two men served for a number of years. CHARLES Trump then was chief for 39 years with Clifford Rampton as his secretary. Mr. Rampton was chief for 20 years with Fred Trump as his secretary. Dell Holbrook served following Mr. Rampton. At present Darrel Maclrath is Bountifuls fire chief and has been serving for two years in this capacity. IN 1949 the city bought a large red fire engine which replaced the one pictured with the horse drawn fire cart. Today the fire department has acquired several pieces of new equipment. The latest being an 80 foot ladder and a ambulance service. All of this service to the people of Bountiful started with the Bucket Brigade and later the Teamster and wagons from the old Kirk Brickyard when Mr. Ledingham was manager of the brick yard. John S. Ledingham on the old horse drawn fire cart from earlier days in Bountiful, with the first modern fire truck in the background. All Bountiful celebrated when the new truck went into service. |
