Show The Suicide At 4 oclock yesterday afternoon the coroners jury resumed the examination exami-nation as to the cause of the death of George W Drake Many of the points gone over were the same as given on Wednesday morning The pistol was identified aa having been sold to a man of the description of the deceased with the cartridges while evidence was introduced showing that he hid been seen in saloons on different occasions when he acted like one demented wringing his hand looking at person and saying Thats no harm No harm intended in-tended and then shaking hands with entire strangers etc Mr George A Meeara yesterday suede I some experiments with a pittol like the one found firing at human hair and he states that at a distance of six inches the hair was not effected in i the slightest and at three inches it i was just scorched Dr Benedict testified that bo could not tell whether the hair near the wound was burned or net ai it was matted with blood which had dried The jury returned a verdict that became be-came to his death by a bullet shot in i his head from hands unknown While many still believe that it was murder the preponderance of testimony testi-mony seems to indicate that it was a suicide |
