Show Mining Matters Mining matters in Utah are in a booming condition all of the principle prin-ciple camps being alive and doing well Within a day or two the HERALD has published information concerning the prospects of Park City and vicinity and this morning I we have a good report to make of other districts Mr Arthur Gushing Gush-ing of Mackintoshs sampling work at Sandy gave a reporter ot this paper a few facts which those interested in the mineral development develop-ment of the Territory will pursue with satisfaction At the works named there are twenty men employed em-ployed who handle every day in and out from 200 to 300 tons of ore and their orehouses are full from top to bottom all the time this summer sum-mer in fact Mr Gushing who has been in the business five or six years does not remember a better showing of ores than has been made during the last few months The principal shipments from the Cotton woods are being made from the Joab Lawrence City of Rocks Prince of Wales and Maxfield though there are a number of other mines which greatly swell the total output Bingham the Old Reliable is sending out lots and lots of good dirt her chief contributors to the wealth of the world being the Telegraph i I Tele-graph Spanish Lead Western Extension I Ex-tension and Yosemite American Fork has her Milkmaid and Wild Dutchman whose yields areboth large and rich Tintic forwards to the works from seventy five to 100 tons of ore daily principally from the Eureka Hill and Bullion mines Considerable ore is being exported ex-ported some of it being sent to San Francisco and some to St Louis to Melrose to Castle Dome Co and to the Selby lead works The reason rea-son for this is that better prices obtain ob-tain at the points named than here at home for certain classes of ore |
