Show Elmira Pinkham Tufts For some weeks it has baen known that Mrs Elmira Tufts has been suffering and gradually sinking from a paralytic stroke She breathed her last at 620 oclock Saturday Sat-urday morning Thus ends the life of a pioneer woman whose career in Utah has been a remarkable remark-able one for industry enterprise endurance kindness and usefulness She was born in 1812 on the 25th of September and consequently was nearly 71 years of age During the early days of Mormonism she shared the trials of her fellowrelig ionists adhered to the faith she had espoused through thick and thin and came to Utah in 1848 where she has since continuously lived She leaves three sons and a daughter daugh-ter to grieve for her During the latter part of her life she devoted much time to tracing the genealogy of her family and succeeded in carrying car-rying back to the Pilgrim Fathers time Peace to her ashes The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 oclock in the Eighth Ward assemblyroom |
