Show I St James HoteL Mr J J Greenwald has long had a reputation as a manager of a family fam-ily hotel and the applicants he has turned away nave forced him to the conclusion that he ought to have a larger establishment As a consequence conse-quence he has leased the St James hotel a building situated half a blotk south and across the street from the Clift House It was erected by the Walker Brothers and is without a doubt as convenient substantial sub-stantial and elegant a structure of the kind as can be found anywhere in the west It is two stories high and in every particular is just such a place as one would want to make a home or locate for a day or two The rooms are large and each one affords a pleasant view the halls are broad the ceilings high and everything that can be imagined that would add to the comfort and convenience of the guest has been duly considered and provided Mr Greenwald proposes that the manner in which the house is to be filled up will be in harmony with his new hotel and family boarding house Hence he is putting in nothing noth-ing but fine furniture with elegant hangings and draperies and splendid carpets His dining hall is large airy and pleasant his kitchen a model of compactneas and convenience con-venience and his appliances generally gener-ally of the most valuable and of time and labor saying character The house is well protected against fire both in regard to builing and appliances for tjie extinguishing extinguish-ing of that cousurningAfllement there being hose with a force of i water accessible in differeut parts of the house As yet Mr Green wald and his industrious and experienced ex-perienced wife have been unable to fit the place up and it will take still a few days longer Notwithstanding Notwith-standing this nearly all his rooms are engaged which tis sufficient evidence evi-dence of his popularity and which is an assurance that hIS venture in managing the St James Hotel will be a decided success |
