Show LOGAN LINES f T There are just the faintest possible indications of spring and it is thoagbUhat if the indications dont fail spring will come boat the middle of summer t Local l owners of fast horasg are giving tbem plenty of excercisa on poor roads with the probab reeul of urfitting the animals for any service ser-vice on the track I With the conference number the Utah Journal will 133119 a large sup plement containing a fine cut of the Temple together with a complete history of the structure The coining conference and dedication dedi-cation of the Temple ara the absorb ing topics of conversation A great rush is i expected from all parts of Utah and the surrounding Territorial and it is hoped that for a time business busi-ness will be livelier The recent amendment io the city ordinance regulating the liquor traffic will have the effect of closing the ea loons as eoonaa present licenses expire ex-pire In some cases this will be three months after which time there will be but one place in town where liquor can be obtained I Notwithstanding the dull times anew a-new retail business has recently opened on Main Sf to be followed by another shortly These enterprises contrary to the usual custom are supported with plnty of capital and will be fully able to run over any temporary pressure It is thought that the opening of the Temple and consequent rush of visitors will create a greater interest in this city and vicinity and that attention at-tention will be drawn toward the splendid scenery and natural wonders won-ders in Logan 0iln which place would soon develop into a summer resort were it attractions better known H Logan May 5 1884 |
