Show Crops The extreme frosts of last winter materially affected winter wheat killing a vast deal of it until in some places not more than one tenth of the average crops will be realized The wet weather of the spring while it worked unfavorably unfavora-bly to farmers in the country in the vicinity of the Big Field was a blessing to those opening up farms on the other side of Jordan and will prove of incalculable benefit to to them as the result The present pres-ent warm weather is bringing forward I for-ward the crops in the southern suberbs of the city and it is thought the effect of the spring rains will be only to delay the harvest and will cot detract from the production One thing which is a little stiaugeis the fact that with one or two exceptions there has been frosts every night in portions of the valley and so severe at times as to temporarily effect the growth of crops lhe prospects all over the territory terri-tory are however that abundant harvest will be realized and that next fall will see the inhabitants of Utah well fixed financially and correspondingly happy |
