Show KfiTJM The Missing St Louis Lawyer at Park City The dispatches for two or three weeks past have contained frequent I references to the disappearance of Judge C H Krum a prominent St Louis lawyer and have coupled his unexplained abscence with pointed intimations of the maladministra tion of valuable estates of which he dispatches was the administrator Two patches one published on Saturday morning stated that he had a ticket from San Francisco to Ogden and a detective averred that traveling under an assumed name he had gone to Park City and the detective was about as near right as possible From a reliable source the following follow-ing is obtained On Monday last Judge Krum reached Ogden in company with another person whose name is not known He had a ticket for Salt Lake but changed his mind and went to Park City instead going there on the freight train He register there not under nn assumed name as allegedbuc under his own He moved about on Tuesday looking at the place and acting unconcerned On Wednesday morning he expressed a desire to go fishing and that afternoon in company com-pany with a young gentleman who resides re-sides in Salt Lake but has business in Park City they took a trip to East Canyon and spent the afternoon after-noon in fishing The Judge p roved a very pleasant companion and seemed generally unreserved The most noticeable characteristic was trifling absent mindedness To questions ques-tions about his travels he manifested mani-fested a little embarrassment but finally stated that he had gone to Panama thence to San Francisco thence direct to Park City He also stated that he had no particular interests in-terests in that section and had no idea of getting any but was merely there for pleasure That evening the Judges companion said he had received a telegram and that they would leave in the morning Thursday Thurs-day and on Thursday they departed Those who have seen him state that he is a man of fine presence not unlike President Arthur in appearance ap-pearance and is intelligent courteous court-eous and extremely affable He did not act like one who was escaping from pursuers and seemed to m keno ke-no effort to conceal his identity j and with the exception of a tendency ten-dency to absentmindedness there was no observable peculiarity about him Wither he went is not known |
