Show LOTS LOIS Of TIME TO SECURE FREE SEATS AT COLONIAL Ins morning when the Childrens S TillS I I Contest editor read the letter that was printed in the paper from a Dutch Kiddie who said that perhaps the editor know his business he help feeling a lit tIe tle hurt about It You see the editor Is sitting flitting up nights and working over time to read rad all of the childrens bright sayings and he wants to be perfectly fair and make a decision that will please everyone He never had a more pleasant task nor a harder one since the time he was judge in a baby show and every child he looked at was pret ret tier than the others and the mothers were watching him close to see that he miss the good points of their little ones If II Just some of the sayings were bright and the rest of or them no good at atall atall atall all the editor would not have so much trouble in deciding But the difficulty Is that they are all clever and the i fathers and mothers wont be satisfied with the one he picks for a first prize prizewinner prizewinner I winner unless it is ever so much bet i ter than the others There are those i that make the editor laugh out loud when he reads them and those that make him smile every time he thinks of them and then there are some that he ho tries to forget and cant do It The result Is that he has a pile of good ones that Is very very high and a lit tle tie pile of not very good ones and there are none where the pile of bad ones ought to be And If It anyone thinks that the editor is going to please everyone when he Is up against such conditions you are more hopeful than he Is There are some editors that would Just put all the papers in n a bag shake them up and draw one out and that would he be the best one But you see this is a real I hardworking conscientious editor who vho wants the brightest little girls girla and boys In Salt Lake to have this chance to see the Dutch kiddies in The rhe Red Mill Mm so you may be sure that JQ io will 1111 try to make a fair decision There are re twelve little folks who are going to have a n happy time Saturday I afternoon and the rest of them will wUI I have proud fathers and mothers any way because the editor can truthfully compliment them on having such bright children They ought to write down more of their little sayings which otherwise might be forgotten The contest closes tomorrow noon and It Is expected that many more say Ings will be entered before that time Not until every one Is in will the f final decision be made Here are the rules of ot the contest Write out a clever remark emark or speech not to exceed fifty words and send It to the Childrens Contest Editor of The Sign your name and address and the childs name and age As Aa many of or the clever sayings as we can find room for will be printed The contest will wUl close at noon Thursday May 12 and on Fri day May 13 the names and pictures If l we can get them will be published In The The child chUd whose speech Is adjudged to be the most clever will wUI receive a box six seats for the Saturday May M y 14 mat inee of The Red Mill which is play Ing at the Colonial A second prize of four seats will wUl be given and ten other prizes of two seats each making malting a to tal of thirty scats seats for twelve persons The Red Mill Is at the Colonial this week and seats to It have been I chosen as prizes because of the cute little Dutch Kiddies In It who appeal so strongly to the children |
