I St " l 1 REWARD FOR SKATING These top skaters in the Skate-A-Thon, recently sponsored spon-sored by the Davis South Unit of the American Cancer Society at the Rustic Rink, show the prizes they won for skating ten hours at the rink on Saturday, Dec. 30; then collecting the money pledged in their behalf by their neighbors and friends; and turning it in to the Cancer Society by the Jan. 17th deadline. The last of the money thus collected by the 42 Skate-A-Thon participants is now being collected by Mrs. Karen Stewart, Cancer funds chairman for the Davis South Unit, so she distributed dis-tributed the top prizes to these participants this weekend. They are, front, Kristie Kaas and Lance Gallagher, displaying the TV Video games they won as the top participants. They also won a theater pass and a record for their efforts. In back are, Jodi Murdock, Tammy Lofgreen, Christie Johnson and Jeffery Clem. Jodi, Tammy and Jeff all won an 8-track tape, a theater pass and a record and Christie won a theater pass and a record. All 42 participants were given a record album, and a skate-a-thon certificate from the ACS. Use of the roller rink for the Skate-A-Thon was donated by Homer Reed, owner, and prizes were donated by: King Mag-navox, Mag-navox, Duerden's, J.C. Penney's, Trolley North and the Sandcastle Theaters. |
