Show I WILLIAM MONTAGUE FERRY RY t I I WILLIAM MONT MONTAGUE AGUE FERRY was born in Grand Haven 1 W Vey Mich March 12 1 1871 He is the son of Edward Payson Ferry and Clara White Ferry He was educated in the public schools of Grand Haven r and then attended Michigan Military academy Later he went to Olivet college I f Mich where he graduated graduate in 1891 1891 He then took a special course in the I j Colorado State School of Mines t Mr Ferry came to Park City Utah shortly after his graduation In 1896 he married Ednah Truman of Nashville Mich William Montague and Sanford T Truman ruman twin sons were born to them in 1898 In August 1898 the family moved to Salt Lake City and has resided here since Mr Ferry is s interested in mining banking and farming He is a director in the Silver King Coalition Mines Co the Mason Valley Mines Company the Utah Savings Trust Company the Pacific Land Water Company and represents represents rep rep- i resents interests in numerous other corporations i Mr Ferry is a member of the University club of which he is vice president t. t and also holds memberships in the Alta Commercial and Country clubs He has l' l been much in public life and has held a number of elective offices He was for R 1 six years a member of the Salt Lake City council and was president of that bodyL body L during the last two years of his incumbency 1 At the present time ime Mr Ferry is president of the Ut Utah h State Senate a and d the manner anner i in which he discharged his duties brought favorable ble comment from frem his colleagues His election to this office l was the re result of many years 9 efficient work for his party I It 7 r S 'S ti- ti J f r O O.
