The two hundred udents will participate in eir original program, en-' &Jed "Happy (200th) Birth-!iy Birth-!iy America". They with the ' Ip of their teachers, have 1 p. iihioned hats reminiscent of ;' !'e 1976 period and have ' writen original words to old favirites. The entire group wil sing the words to "Happy Biithday" written by Mrs. Godsell's room. The huge bilhday cake was fashioned by Principal Brice Hallows ard decorated by PTA irember Cheryl Bender. THE STUDENTS will express their thanks to America and will sing "0 Biautiful for Spacious Skes". They will tel! about " thegreatness of the country Students at West Bountiful Elementary School are remembering the bicentennial in many ways. Showing some of the costumes they will wear in the bicentennial program at the school are, front 1 to r, Joe Krueger, Kathy Schulthies, Leroy Stuart, Kristeen Handley, Matthew Eastman, Launee Larson, Cyndee Call, Lars Sum-merhayes. Back, David Stout, Jay Dee Kerr, Principal Brice Hallows, Yvette Madsen, and Carol Chipper. as they sing "America For Me", sung to the tune "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". The original words were done by Mrs. Vlam and Mrs. Bryson. The pace of the program will be changed, as the second grade students offer their gifts to America on her birthday. birth-day. They will give courage, as they honor the soldiers of years gone by and sing "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy" and r ''When Johnny comes Marching Home". THE FIRST grade will promise cleanliness and "Smokey the Bear" will be sung; the third grade will offer respect to the flag and "You're a Grand Old Flag" will be sung' the third grade will offer Peace by showing love to everyone and the song "Let There Be Peace on Earth" will be rendered; the first grade will offer good citizenship ci-tizenship and a formula for Good Manners". THE CLIMAX of the program will be the singing of "What's More American" by the children and the singing of the first verse of "America" by the children and audience, am |
