Show 11 Still Ponflops GiCni! Spain JGGtlS ! Storm drainage problems and solutions were again the main topic of conversation at the North Salt Lake Council meeting last Tuesday night. TWO PARTIES, one a new car dealership and the other a developer in the area, appeared ap-peared before the councilman to discuss the drainage situation. situa-tion. Mr. Kratz. representing the new Datsun dealership which will be built to the north of the old Valley Music Hall, requested of the council that some relief be made to his dealership in regards to installing in-stalling the drainage pipe. MR. KRATZ asked if there was any possibility of the city waiving the storm drainage drain-age assessment and help pay for the installation of the pipe. The council pointed out that the storm assessment was there to help the run off situation si-tuation and thai no one coutd be exempt from it. THIS BROUGHT up another problem, the assessment assess-ment is for $200 an acre, unless half of the acreage involved in-volved was to be covered by impervious material. If half of the acreage was covered then the assessment would double. Mr. Kratz then indicated that although they didn't intend in-tend to cover over half of their property, it was already asphalted by the Valley Music Hail. The council indicated to , him that this problem had never come up before so they would review it and let htm know at the next council meeting. LOCAL developers then requested preliminary plans for the Orchard Hills East Part 11 subdivision be approved. However the council found the plans inadequate and indicated in-dicated to the developers that they should include plans for a storm dram structure to handle runoff water at the bottom of the canyon. ALSO THAT the chrk list currently in use by the city in developing and planning be used and signed by the various departments involved.
