THE DAVIS County Coordinating Coor-dinating Council consists of these four and the four retiring retir-ing presidents, Shirley Bubak, Layton, Pi Chapter; Roma Luthi. Salt Lake C ty Kappa Chapter; Velda Marrow, Bountiful, Rho Chapter and Marjorie Thatcher, Kaysville, Epsilon Chapter and chairman of the coordinating chapter. More than 2,500 women teachers will convene at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago, III. during the week of July 23-30 for the international interna-tional convention of Delta Kappa Gamma under the leadership of Nadine M. Ew-ing Ew-ing international president. The teachers represent all areas of education from nursery nur-sery school, kindergarten through distinguished professors profes-sors and administrators. The society is unique in its membership mem-bership because of the wide range of professional interests. REPRESENTED at the convention will be 50 states of the United States and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, seven provinces of Canada, Norway, Sweden, two states of Mexico, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Guatemala, England and El Salvador. The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a unique organization. It started start-ed as a challenge to women teachers and their employers in 1929 and has grown to become the largest for women teachers in the world. TODAY THERE are 145,000 members in 11 countries and the society has spent more than $1 million helping the teachers pursue higher education and gain specific qualifications.
