Show IMzDCdo moo Washington Elementary HTA is busy as usual on their special projects. They have joined the fight on offensive television viewing and commercials com-mercials and have been given Channel 5 to monitor during the next 30 days. Volunteers have taken on the responsibility respon-sibility to watch television at least one hour per day during prime time (8-9 p.m. ) and write down all good and bad items which need to be brought to the attention of the stations, commercial advertisers, adver-tisers, PTA boards, etc. then write at least five letters per week during that month stand, to let their thoughts be known. In charge of this particular event is Deanne Anderson and Diane Gibbs. Another interesting project at Washington is a community survey, which is asking parents their thoughts on needs within the area, such as schools, recreation, etc. This project is being conducted by Mary McKee. Get well wishes are extended extend-ed to Don Reynolds, husband of Victoria Reynolds. He was admitted to Lakeview this week for surgery. Congratulations to Wayne Trenbeath. He has been appointed ap-pointed to the position of trustee trus-tee on the Davis County Mental Health Board. Mary Chamberlain is at home after a lengthy stay at Lakeview Hospital where she was treated for pneumonia. Sincere get well wishes are sent her way. Fans, fans, and fans traveled to Provo on Saturday evening to be in attendance at the Utah-BYU basketball game that evening. There were lots of smiles on Sunday moming for Ute rooters, and "Y" fans were not all that upset up-set by the Redskin victory. Numerous people from the area were on hand to witness the annual rivalry. Louis Costillo is back at the Lowell Carr home. He was a foreign exchange student last year, making his home with the Carr's. This year, he is back making his home with the family, and enjoying his junior year at Woods Cross High School. Louis is a native of Guatamela. Speaking of Woods Cross High, the school sponsored an enjoyable evening for all students this past Wednesday evening. Following school, buses were loaded with students who traveled to Park City for skiing, tubing, and a stomp to end the activities. Numerous students attended and enjoyed the mid-week event. Welcome to Kenneth Scott and Michelle Dransfield and three sons and daughter, who are living in the Russell Whitekar Whi-tekar home in Meadowlane Subdivision. The Whitekars are now living in Farmington. The young men's basketball program for the stake is drawing draw-ing to a close, with some out standing teams being recognized recog-nized as leaders in the competition. compe-tition. Third Ward and Fifth Ward teams are very even, and plan to be entered in Regional Play-Offs in early March. They are completing tournament play on Thursday evenings at the 2nd-6th Ward building, with the public invited invit-ed to attend. A group of young men from the Third Ward are planning a super weekend at Park City. The Priest group will leave Friday afternoon for skiing and a stay in one of the condominiums con-dominiums for the outing. In charge is Sven Brunswick and Gerald Harrison. Congratulations to Dee Bird and Sheila Cuzick. They have set their wedding date for March 3. Dee is the son of Paul and Norma Bird. Sheila is the daughter of Thomas and Cleora Cuzick. |
