Show Music Events In Full Swing At Davis High Music activities at Davis High School are in full swing in preparation for the spring events. Many times, the general public thinks that there are no .more band activities ac-tivities when the football season is completed and the marching band retires from the outside early morning practices. HOWEVER, the students and director are as busy as ever with different activities. Dana Rothlisberger, director uf bands at Davis High says that the music room at the high school is opened at 6: 25 a.m. every morning for some kind of a rehearsal. "We have several things going all the time," says Kothisberger. "We hold section sec-tion (such as trombone or clarinet) rehearsals each morning, the pep band meets to play for the home basketball basket-ball games, and our band that will play for the benefit dinner on March 13, will soon get together. This is in addi tion to the symphonic and gold bands that meet during the school day." ONE OF the most important impor-tant concerns of the band during February is raising 7,000. The new uniforms that the band is buying will cost a great deal of money and the band must raise $7,000 as heir share. Mr. Rothlisberger Rothlis-berger indicated that $4,200 has been raised, and would invite anyone who would like to contribute to contact him at J76-1711 or 376-0283. Spring events in the music department include the musical "Camelot" on March I, 3, 6; the annual band oenefit dinner on March 13; and the final band concert at Weber State College on May 18. |
