Show BINGHAM HAS LEAD IN ORDINANCE MOVE Bingham on Thursday was reported re-ported leading a group of third class Utah cities and towns in plans to adopt new ordinances clarifying, under a 1939 law, procedure pro-cedure under which municipal office of-fice candidates formally become nominees. A purported - model ordinance previously adopted by many of these cities and towns provided that certificates of nomination must be filed not less than 30 days prior to the election. The law, it was explained by attorneys, at-torneys, provided that where nomination nom-ination is by certificate, It shall be filed not more than 30 days or less than 15 prior to election, thus opening the wsy for possible postelection post-election contests where ordinances are not specifically In accordance with the statute. |
