Show THE WEDDiNG MARCH Editor Wildman Leads a Bride to the Altar SH IS A WASHINGTON BELLE The Funeral of Bishop OJConnor of Omaha The Respect Paid to Him Suicide I From a Very Sad Cause WASIXGTOX June 3Special telegram to THE HERALD All the sunlight in Sf Johns church today beamed upon the i bride and groom who stood at 1 oclock at he chancel step to married The friends o f the happy couple Miss Letitia Aldrich I o f San Francisco and Mr R Wildman of Boise City Idaho h l fled the old church where so many noted weddings have been I olernized There was a friendly sociable tyle of bridal party As the spectators ropped in Mr W A Gresham and Dr L iyman seasonably armed each with a palm leaf fan showed them to seats When t he bridal party entered the organ played ho march from Lohengrin The ex ectant groom escorted the brides unt Mrs Stewart down the sle and the bride followed with Senator Stewart Dr Douglas read the marriage service and as the newly married couple came out of the church they s nailed and bowed to all their eiends in the vestibule At their carriage they held an mpromptu reception all the more enjoyed I because nobody expected to have that chance to tell the bride how awfully pretty I she looked Her wedding robe was rather a dainty traveling dress light grey cashmere cash-mere and brocade the same shade A broadbrimmed hat of tulle was wreathed i n forgetmenots She carried forgetmenots a bouquet of pond lilies and a gray parasol with a silver knob Mrs Stewart was in golden silk striped grenadine with just a bit of crimson on crmson her small brown tulle bonnet Mr and Mrs Wildman drove directly to the station and will start on their honeymoon honey-moon by a visit to the grooms relatives in I Elmira N Y They are going west later to see the brides mother who resides in California and in a month or so sail for Mr Wildmans post of duty the consulship consul-ship at Singapore India Mr Wildman owns and edits the Idaho Statesman in Boise City Id and has spent the past winter in this city His bride is talented and popular She has taken a leading part in all the amateur theatricals for the past three years and in the meanwhile mean-while traveled one season with one of Mr Palmers companies Lately she relinquished relin-quished her idea of adopting the stage as a profession and has been a great belle in society during the past winter under the chaperoning of her aunt Mrs Senator Stewart There were no invitations to the inviations theeddint and among those who witnessed it were Secretary Blaine Mrs Hearst Secretary and Mrs Jones and Mr Newlands of Nevada Ne-vada Senator and Mrs Dolph Senator and Mrs Hiscock Senator and Mrs Cul lom Senator and Mrs Squires Mrs Carey of Wyoming Mile Decca the cantatrice and many others well known in the exclusive exclu-sive circles of Washington society |
