Show Sudden Death. Miss Martha Campbell, a young girl who has recently been living in the family of Mr. A. Webb, corner of First Eastand Fifth South streets.died very suddenly yesterday morning under un-der circumstances which led the family to believe something other! than natural causes had occasioned her death. She had been working at Webb's for about three weeks, during which time she waa apparently in good health, till Thursday evening, when she complained of being aick and retired. Sue suffered very much on Friday, but was not thought to bo dangerously ill. She arose yesterday morning, and was about the house as uaual for a short time, when she again laid down on the bed and a few hours afterwards expired in great pain. Coroner Taylor being informed ol the death had a jury summoned and held an inquest. From the testimony testi-mony of Dr. Meik and other witnesses the jurors brought in a verdict of death caused by a violent attack of cholera morbus. Tho deceased was about thirteen years of age and was a very intelligent intelli-gent girl. Her parents reside in this city, but are at present out of town spending the holidays with some friends in Utah county. |
