While there wasn't much suspense, the announcement that the Cyprus high senior class had claimed top honors in the 48th ancoml nual petition was greeted with enthusiasm here last Wednesday. The seniors swept to Song-n-Yel- victory by virtue of top honors in every performance category and also had by far the highest percentage and numbers of part- formances by the three classes, with the ability (See Page 12B, Col. 4) competition as a mode to build school spirit. At that time she was a faculty member at the school. This year, as she has been for most of the performances, she was an honored guest and student body president Sterling Barker turned the microphone over to her for the final announcement. Miss Pehrson congratulated the winners, but noted that the entire student body deserves considerable credit for the fine program that was presented. The cheerleaders were Mary Woodward and Kim Sharp. The class officers for the junior class include Kaylun Cunningham, president, along with Rhonda Anderson, Karen Pinelle and Kaye Kelson. Cheerleaders were Lori Harwood and Johanna Powers. This years theme for was Victory Through Unity, and while the judges were out, the total group Song-n-Ye- of participants ticipated finale in par- a grand designed to enhance that feeling. The standing-rooonly crowd included a host of Granite School District officials and guests from pep groups and student leaders from other schools.
