Leadership Conference Fun and Hard Work The Associated Students' annual fall leadership conference drew more than 120 students to the Treasure Mountain Inn at Park City this month. The three-day conference, held September 13, 14, and 15, served as a pre -school workshop and get aquainted period for student government and fraternal leaders.Highlighting the conference was a keynote speech by Elder Sterling W. Sill, assistant to the Council of Twelve, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. . Sill set the mood of the conference with a dynamic address on the keys to leadership, which he likened to the five fingers of a hand. Traditional activities, not scheduled by the leadership committee, were kangaroo court, nightly patrols by the union director and dean of students, and visits to the haunted house. Tom Walch and Judy Willmore, prosecuting and defense attorneys of the court, succeeded in being the only two who were punished for the sins of conference delegates. They both ended up in the swimming pool (not without their clothes on). Dean Alan J. Day ley and J. Farrell Shepherd were censored for failure to keep from finding out what went on in the halls at 3:00 a.m. They also halted an early morning pajama contest before trophies could be issued to winning contestants. A haunted house escapade ended in a sore cranium for Taylor Ellis of the Games and Recreation Committee, who hurried so fast to get back to the car, that he entered it without first opening the door.
