Show Leeds CCC Camp Barrack 4, having won the efficiency ef-ficiency award for the past 60 days, was awarded, much to the delight of the boys, a trip to Boulder Dam. Though the weather-was weather-was cold, the boys made no complaint com-plaint and to a man they expressed themselves as delighted with the trip. In order to rate such a trip the boys were high point winners in a contest based on (a) Inspection Inspec-tion data 50 per cent and (bl participation in the camp educational educa-tional 50 per cent. Lt. Neil W. Lamb, commanding officer, was well pleased with the conduct of the boys and reported the trip a success in every way. In response- to an invitation from the Utah National Parks Scout Council asking for representation represen-tation at the Scouter's Training course to be held at Zion Park on November 4 and 5. seven enrollees and the Camp Educational adviser were present from Camp Leeds. Holding strictly to the Explorer phases of scouting, the Leeds CCC detachment was successful in obtaining ob-taining eight certificates as a reward re-ward for work accomplished while at the training course. The CCC boys were particularly impressed with the new program now offered for the older boys and men. Also they were inspired by the contacts made with the officials and scouters of the local council while at the training Moot. Capt. William H. Riley, district medical inspector, was at Camp Leeds on official business on November No-vember 4. |
