Show COX RE-ELECTED AT ANNUAL BEET SEED CONVENTION The Superior Beet Seed growers held their annual convention in St. George Saturday afternoon and evening, January 9. LeRoy Cox was re-elected president for the ensuing year. Mr. Cox, who had been attending at-tending the Farm Bureau convention con-vention in Salt Lake City, was unable to get through because of the snow. In his absence Walter Cannon presided at the meetings. Speakers scheduled for the convention were President Cox, M'oroni Jensen, manager of the Utah-Idaho sugar beet plant in St. George who was snowbound snow-bound at Cedar City and Commissioner Com-missioner Smith of the Stat Department De-partment of Agriculture who was unable to come because of the storm. In their absence Walter Cannon gave a report of the National Na-tional Farm Bureau convention which he attended at Pasadena, California last month and Edward McMullin of Leeds reported the National Cooperative meeting which was held in Salt Lake City last month. L. Whitney. In the evening the ladies auxiliary aux-iliary was organized with Hazel Bradshaw, president; Mrs. LeRoy Cox, vice-president; Mrs. Henry Crosby, secretary, and Mrs. Dan Seegmiller, directors. The program which was given consisted of vocal solos by Noma Andrus, Mazel and Cleone Sproul, reading and dance by Marilyn Cox, and instrumental duets by Joseph Tally and Owen Burgess, and Joseph Tally and Cecil Empey. The remainder of the evening was spent dancing. |
