Show PROMINENT COUPLE UNITED IN MARRIAGE Grant Lund and Miss Helen Woodbury Wood-bury were married at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Vivien Woodbury at noon Sunday. Bishop Karl N. Snow performed the ceremony. cere-mony. The bridegroom: is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Lund and has been employed as manager of the Hurricane Drug store the past year. The bride has held the position of assistant cashier at the Dixie Stock-growers Stock-growers bank the past few years. Following the wedding breakfast which was attended by forty friends and relatives, the young couple left for Salt Lake City where they will make their home. Mr. Lund will take a medical course at the University Uni-versity of Utah. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H. King and Mr. and Mrs. Creighton D. King of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. D. Joseph Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur and Clarence Schmutz of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. John Judd of La Verkin and Mrs. Camilla Wan-less Wan-less of New York. Wm. H. Esplin of Orderville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Esplin and John W. Spendlove, were married Hurricane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Spendlov,e Spendlove wer Tuesday, September 24, by Judge LeRoy H. Cox at the court house. Marriage licenses were issued at Parowan last week to Marlow C. Smith of Mente, Kansas, and Eu-lala Eu-lala Prince of Cedar City, and to Osmon P. Williams of Kanarra and Mildred Schurtz of Cedar City, according ac-cording to the Parowan Times. Wtru Harper and Mrs. Frances W. Leavitt of Mesquite were married in the St. George temple today. COMMUNITY CHOIR IS WORTirY PROJECT The need of a community choir is keenly felt in St. George and although al-though an attempt to form such an organization last winter met with indifference, interest has revived with the starting of school and another an-other try is being made by J. Wm. McAllister, director of vocal music at the college. It is hoped his efforts ef-forts will meet with success. There is an abundance of talent here and t is obvious that the activities ac-tivities of such an organization would result in untold advantages for St. George and be the moans) of receiving re-ceiving much favorable publicity for the town. |
