Show AMERICAN LEGION CELEBRATES 18TH ANNIVERSARY WED. The Lester Keate Post of the American iLegion enjoyed their 18 th anniversary party in the basement of the Tabernacle Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, March 17. Eighteen Eight-een candles on a large birthday cake were lit by Auxilliary President Presi-dent Pearl Morris and blown out by Commander Gordon Mathis of the local post. The Legion Auxilliary then presented pre-sented the Legion with a plaque containing an Inscription regarding regard-ing the conservation of our natural na-tural resources. The inscription is headed by the following words. "Conservation o f National Resources Re-sources is National Defense". The resolution contained thereon was adopted by the Legion Auxilliary at their convention in Cleveland, Ohio in 193 6. The plaques were made by the Conservation forces, or C. C. Camps in America. Mr. Hickman of Salt Lake City, a legionaire who was in Salt Lake City on W. P. A. project was in attendance at the party and gave a splendid talk. Games and dancing were then enjoyed and refreshments were served to the large crowd present. |
