Show Lloyd Chadburn, S. 2c Dies Following Mastoid Operation Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Chadburn of Veyo were advised by wire Saturday, Sat-urday, Aug. 21, from the Navy War Department, of the serious illness in a Chicago hospital of their son, Lloyd H. Chadburn, Seaman 2c, following a mastoid operation. In connection with his Naval training, Lloyd was attending attend-ing the University of Chicago, when he was taken ill. Mrs. Chadburn and son, Ashby, left immediately by bus for Salt Lake City, from where Mrs. Chad-burn Chad-burn went by plane to Chicago, arriving approximately 24 hours before be-fore Lloyd passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 2 a. m. Funeral services for Mr. Chad-burn, Chad-burn, have been set for Saturday, Satur-day, Aug. 28, at 11 a. m., in the Veyo ward hall, pending arrival of the body from Chicago. Mr. Chadburn was born in St. George May 1, 1925, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Chadburn. He had his early schooling, in Veyo and attended Dixie junior college before entering military service in February, 1943, being assigned to the U. S. Navy. Having completed h i s "boot" training at Camp Farragut, Ida., he had been selected for special training at the University of Chicago, Chi-cago, where he was when he became be-came afflicted with the mastoiditis which resulted in his death. Surviving besides his parents of Veyo, are one brother, Ashby Chadburn of Veyo, and five sisters: sis-ters: Mrs. Eldon Smith of Summit, Sum-mit, Utah; Mrs. Donald Judd of St. George; Mrs. Howard Carter of El Paso, Texas; Lois Chad-burn, Chad-burn, twin sister of the deceased, and Sherwin Chadburn of Veyo; also his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Jones of Gunlock. |
