Show Funeral Services Held Thursday, Jan. 9 For William Atkin Sr. Funeral services were conducted in the St. George Stake Tabernacle Taber-nacle at 2 p. m., Thursday, Jan. 9, for William Atkin Sr., with Bishop James Andrus in charge. Music numbers included, "I Shall Not Pass Again This Way", and "O' My Father", by the West ward ladies' chorus, LaPrele Snow, Anna Cox, Harriet Cox, Dorothy McAllister, vocal duets, "One Sweetly Solmen Thought", and "Whispering Hope", by Alice Cannon and Lillian Cox. Mrs. Mae A. Pace presided at the organ and accompanied the singing. sing-ing. The speakers were George F. Whitehead, James McArthur and George W. Worthen. All three, told of their life long association with William Atkin, eulogizing him for his long years of labor in the upbuilding of the farming and cattle industry of this locality, lo-cality, of his kindness to those in need, of his faith in the gospel, his fidelity to his family, and his honesty among his fellowmen. Wort hen dwelt on the gospel message to mankind and said, "The Book of Life Is the record of man's existence exist-ence upon the earth, and this man has written a worthy record". Prayers were by Isaiah Cox. ! Bishop Albert Anderson and the grave in the city cemetery was dedicated by Harold Cox. There were many floral tributes from relatives and friends. |
