Show Soldiers Die in Flames Monterey, Calif. Four soldiers of the Thirtieth infantry stationed at the Presido were killed, many persons most of them soldiers, were silghtly injured hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of property, including five homes, was damaged, and the entire countryside menaced for a while by a fire which started when lightning struck a 55,000-barrel tank of oil here belonging to the Associated Associat-ed Oil company. Nearly forty officers offi-cers and men were treated for minor burns and injuries at the camp hospi-al. hospi-al. Two of the men killed were identified iden-tified as A. B. Boles and E. F. Peterson. Pet-erson. The others were not identified. |
