Show STRIP STOCKMAN DIES ATHOLDEN Heart Attack Fatal to John Kinney, Resident of This Section for Past 35 Years John Kinney, a stockman of the Arizona strip, well and favorably known in ' this section, died in Holden, Utah, last Friday at 5:30 a. m. He was 66 years of age at the time of death which was the result of an attack of heart trouble suffered last December from which he never recovered. A brother, Ben Kinney, president of a Fillmore bank, came down at that time and took the sick man to his former home at Holden, At different times Mr. Kinney has been associated with Judge D. H. Morris, C. W- Seegmiller, Preston Nutter, John Schmutz, Sr., and 'John Findlay in the cattle business on the strip. In 1917 he leased the Dixie hotel, which he operated for 2 years. He was only recently made chief inspector on the strip. His wife died 2 years ago at Bingham, Bing-ham, his father passed away in Holden Hol-den last December at the age of 94, a brother died two weeks ago in Colorado, his mother died two years ago, and a son, Bryant, passed pass-ed away one year ago in Panguitch. John Kinney was born October 20, 1863, at Holden, where he lived until un-til 26 years of age when he came here and entered the cattle busi ness. He married Miss Ester Bennett Ben-nett of Salina and made their home for a short time in Canada. Seven children were born to the union, Bennett, Edna, Meryle, Frank, John, Grace and Bryant, all except the latter surviving their father. He also leaves two sisters and two half-brothers half-brothers in Canada, and a brother at Fillmore. |
