Show FUNERAL SERVICES FOR WAYNE K. HIRSCHI HELO Funeral services for Wayne K. Hirschi, the eight-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hirschi of this city, whose death resulted from severe scalding on April 28, were held in the Tabernacle last Thursday afternoon, conducted by Bishop Karl K. Snow. The speakers were Presidents W. O. Bentley, Joseph K. Nicholes, Geo. F. Whitehead and Edw. H. Snow. Musical numbers were a vocal quartet, quar-tet, "Your Sweet Little Rosebud Has Left You; vocal duet, "I Think When I Read That Sweet Story of Old;" vocal solo, "One Fleeting Hour," and a vocal quartet, "Lead Us Our Father." Opening prayer was by Elder Martin L. McAllister, closing prayer by Elder John H. Cot-tam. Cot-tam. The speakers referred to the unusually un-usually sad circumstances of the taking tak-ing of this dear child from its parents and referred to inability to say what will comfort those who mourn. Pres. Bentely in the course of his remarks said; "Or such is the kingdom king-dom of Heaven;" I was reminded of this when I saw Wayne today, he looked as though he was asleep; he seemed so pure, none could be better prepared to meet our God. Reference was made by speakers to the fact that the parents and child will again be united. Pres. Nicholes told of the parents having grown up under his care in the Dixie Callege. The pai-ents will receive this child in the other world. The greatest gifts of eternal life cannot can-not be obtained without children. I would like to encourage the parents in their hour of trial. Christ teaches teach-es the importance and signifiance of home life and it is in the home that we learn the great lesson of life. Pres. Whitehead said, in part: Words are inadequate except to tell how deeply we sympathize with the parents in their great sorrow. It is even better to have had this experience experi-ence than never to have had a child at all, for the child is theirs in the hereafter. Pres. Snow said in part: Every blessing we have or will have this child is heir- to; we shall have the privilege of seeing our dear ones grow to maturity if we are faithful to our trust, every blessing is ours. May God bless these good people. Bishop Snow: I cannot say anything any-thing that will comfort these parents, the Lord alone can comfort them, and I pray His blessings upon them. Thanked all who had so kindly helped help-ed at this time. |
