Show Charles S. Cottam Feted On 80th Birthday Charles S. Cottam, Dixie pioneer, who celebrated his eightieth birthday birth-day anniversary Tuesday, Sept. 16, will be especially honored on Saturday, Sat-urday, Sept. 20, when the descendants des-cendants of John Cottam, Utah pioneer and grandfather of Mr. Cottam, assemble in the basement of the stake Tabernacle in family reunion. Relatives are expected from several sev-eral points in Utah for the events for which a varied program of music, singing, games and refreshments refresh-ments will be provided. A meeting meet-ing will also be held for effecting the John Cottam family organization. organiza-tion. Charles S. Cottam was born in Salt Lake City, Sept. 16, 1861, and was just 15 months old when his parents, Thomas and Caroline Smith Cottam brought their family fam-ily to Dixie, Dec. 15,1862. Thomas Cottam was a turner and carpenter carpen-ter and was well-known for his work along those lines in St. George. |
