Show Cuts Their Trave Pay. Washington, Sept. 2. The discovery of a shorter route between Manila and the United States has had a rather depressing de-pressing es'Iect upon some of the troops, as it reduces their travel pay. The old route was S.050 miles, but of late the transports have cut off the 700 miles required by touching at Honolulu. Some of the soldiers at Manila had received re-ceived travel pay on the basis of the old route, but part ot the first payment has been rcf-jnded to the paymasters This apphrd only to soldiers who had re-enlisted. u |
