Show DIXIE MINE DIVIDENDS. New Machinery Enroute Here--Vork to be Carried on Vigorously. Salt Lake Tribune. The board of directors of the Dixie Copper Mining company, operating- the Apex mine, near St. George, held a meeting a few days ao and empowered empower-ed Dr. J. C. E. King to proceed at once to purchase a twenty-two horse-power gasoline hoist complete. The doctor did so yesterday and the order was placed with the Salt Lake Hardware company, which forwarded the equipment equip-ment on its journey to the south last evening. While the Webb bond was pending on the property the extraction of ore was not carried on very vigorously; vigorous-ly; all efforts being turned towards development. Now that the bond has expired and the mine is again in the hands of those who executed it, it is the intention to inaugurate a new campaign cam-paign of production, and at the same time keep the exploration work going on as vigorously as heretofore. To expedite matters and to greatly reduce the cost of extraction, it was "deemed advisable to put in the new hoist. Some very high-grade ore has been blocked out on the lower levels. This will be shipped to the Salt Lake smelters, while the lower grade product will be treated at the company's plant at St. George. Although it has been kept a secret, the fact has leaked out that since Jan. 1 this year, the mine has paid two dividends to the present stockholders, stockhold-ers, which seems a rather unusual proceeding pro-ceeding in view of the fact that those who comprise the company have not paid up the bond from the original owners of the mine.
