McKee picked for homecoming queen Lisa Marie Richens and Craig Nielson Richens & Nielson to wed in September 27 ceremony Beverly Richens is pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Lisa Marie, to Craig Nielson, son of Jack and Louise Nielson. Lisa and Craig have chosen to be united in marriage Friday, Sept. 27. The marriage and reception will be at the Naples 2nd Ward Chapel. Lisa is a 1984 graduate of Uintah High School Craig is employed with Dennison Drywall of Salt Lake City, Utah. The couple plan to make home in Vernal. their INSTRUCTOR DICK JONES shares the marvels of the new telecommunications teaching computer with Wallace Anderson (seated) and his wife LaVar Anderson at the UBAVC open house. The versatile color display computer was one of the most popular items at the two day open house. Registration for regular computer classes at the new facility are being accepted atthistime. Open house - registration for UBAVC classes There is still time for interested students to get registered and participate in computer classes now being offered at the Vernal location of the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center. Both day and evening classes are being offered and anyone who is interested should contact the UBAVC by calling The center is now located on the third floor of the new state and county building and offers the latest in equipment and pleasant facilities in which to study. Besides the computer classes, registration is being accepted for more than 50 other classes in business. The 789-194- te majority classes are offered of through an open entry open exit program in which students may begin any day of the month and complete the course through an individualized program. There are instructors available to assist students as they study in their individualzed programs. The individualized classes offer training in such areas as accounting, business machines, management, record keeping, machine transcription, marketing, typewriting, office procedures, receptionist procedures, business math, business English and many others. These classes are offered daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Monday evenings from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The computer classes are not individualized and other structured classes include refresher English and refresher math where a regular class period is scheduled and a teacher is present to direct the class activities. Interested students should not delay in getting registered for these classes. Several financial aid programs are available to offer help to students desiring financial help with tuition and books. Tuesday, John and Cherie Dickey were in Salt Lake on business, then traveled to Payson to spend the night with Johns parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dickey, arriving home Wednesday. John and LaRae Moosman attended the dedication of the Bonanza Power Plant and took the tour through it. Ednal Simmons and sister, Vione Parrish, drove to Brigham City to take some wool to the Baron Woolen Mills. Coming back to Ogden, they stayed with their sister, Mrs. Moana Burton Friday and Saturday nights. She took them to the Ice Capades in the Salt Palace. The girls were chosen by a different system this year than in the past. Judges gave them 75 percent of the vote and the studentbody 25 percent. Judges were chosen from a wide variety of individuals in the community. They judged the girls in three categories on Thursday of last week. The homecoming queen and her court will reign over the activities this week which includes riding in the parade Friday at 1:30 and appearing at the game against Timpview on Friday night. Tonya is the daughter of Arthur and Sandra McKee. All of the girls are seniors at the high school. Nancy Allen, who announced the winners, was emcee for the assembly.
