Show UINTAH BASIN STANDARD. Local telelearning center to Hanna,, miNews Roberts ,, ' produce art history classes The Northeastern Utah Telelearning Center at the UBAVC in Roosevelt has been selected to produce 56 classes in Art History and Criticism for the Utah State Office of Education and KUED Channel 7 Television. The course will be taught King, noted educator and artist in the Uintah Basin. The classes will satisfy core curriculum requirements for schools within the state of Utah as well as be accepted for concurrent enrollment credit with Utah State University. Three college credits are available. The Northeastern Utah Center at the Vocational Center in Roosevelt has been involved in distance learning since 1985, producing classes for local schools in the Basin as well as for Tele-lami- ng Channel 7 and the Utah State Office of Education. For the last two years, Dennis Gamer has taught microcomputer applications in business over KUED Channel 7 and will be on the air next fall for students at home, school or business. The art class will be similar to the computer class in that students at home or in school will be actively participating in learning Art History and Criticism from an experienced master teacher using high quality materials and techniques. The class will address the "Language of Art, meanings, styles, purposes, various media and forms, principle periods of art history and artists closely associated with each period. The class will air from 10:20 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning August 28 through January 19, Sariah Silver, a general sterling scholar two years ago, was on a trip in China when the revolution began. Local students are being recruited for the claas this summer as the course will be videotaped at the television laboratory at the Center in Roosevelt There are costs associated with the class. Gregory returned home next day, but was called back because of an auto accident that took the lives of four dose friends, plus a woman in a second car.
