Show THE SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS JESSIE Y DUNN after a short illness of only a few days dais mrs jessie Y dunn died very sudden at her home in this city list last sunday morning her departure was a surprise to her family and friends as all ail of thern them expected her recovery A slight cold grew into a very malignant form of pneumonia which was the bause cause of her sudden departure from this illis life mrs jessie young dunn was the wi wife fe of james dunn the editor of this paper she was born in kirkintilloch scotland january 28 1861 and died e july 10 1910 at a very early age shii sh came to utah with her parents and when but a young woman she married james dunn going into polygamy so she might have the husband of her choice As a plural wife she went through many trials as a w wife ife and mother but under all her trials she was true to her husband and family and a strong derender defender of her religion under all conditions aad ah circumstances unto the end of her well spent life A few years ago part of the incidents of her eventful life appeared in a little ook book called janet dixon the plural wife although it was not generally known at that time that mrs jessie dunn was the real subject of that story but not an incident was related but what was part of her own experience as a wife and mother in the married life she had chosen I 1 she was a teacher in the relief society and an active member of the church in this ward she was beloved ana and respected by all who knew her as she was love by those most who knew her best in her departure from this life she leaves a husband two sons and two daughters a mother two brothers and five sisters adlof all of whom with the ex eption cp do n oi of her r mother were present pre sent at her funeral services although they lived many hundred miles and was just a chance they could be gathered together on a two days notice funeral service were hold held in the tooele thoele ward meeting house on tuesday afternoon councilor peter clegg presiding the choir sing sang when first the glorious light ol of truth and prayer was offered by patriarch thomas atkin the choir sang resting now from care and sorrow and remarks I 1 were made by patriarch george spiers and eldech elder H B haynes mrs Mr evelyn sEvelYn isgreen sang a solo and stake councilor C R mcbride addressed the large number of people who had come to pay their last respects to the departed one the choir sang when I 1 reap and patriarch philip delamare de Di lamare dismissed the services Inter interment meat was in the tooele thoele cemetery the dedication being offered by bishop councilor alvin A walters |
