Show SOCIETY DOING THE TOWN ... By Elaine A. Cannon Here's something for the books . . . little Hugh Adam-Fon, Adam-Fon, who claims to be a pretty big boy for all his "going on 3" years, is completely sold on Sugar House since his folks moved out this way. Oniy one thing bothers him . . . "Which house is the sugar-ed one. Daddy?" Two bachelor friends dropped into town about the same time but couldn't quite make connections. For your information, however, the ho'ys did get to see many of their old U of (J buddies even if they missed out on a warm handclasp from each other. 6 Paul Rogers has now returned to his job in Hawaii . . . whore incidently he saw a good deal of Maxine Christensen and Renee Young before he flew to his native city. Other stop-over guest in town was Johnny Coleman. He drove up from Nevada with his parents and his sister, Clo-Ann. Johnny is opening a drive-in in Reno right away and claims that prospects look good! And needless to say, so did Johnny. It's all over but the happy memories . . . Sid and Fran Rogers Badger are now back in their antique-furnished apartment apart-ment in San Francisco. Their visit here was too brief, complain their numerous friends but it was good while it lasted. Lots and lots of parties for that popular lass. Saw Fran and hsr sister, Mrs. Joseph B. Wirthlin, calling in to see Mrs. Marvin Bertoch (- - and her new home). Marv and Julie have recently moved into their doll house on upper Wilson avenue and so that means we can officially welcome them into the exclusive "southeast-erners "southeast-erners circle." 0 Scanned the baby birthday column of a local newspaper the other day and chanqed upon the darling photo of li'l Miss Beth Ann Love, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Love, 515 East 21st South. Thought it was a baby picture of daddy for a moment there. The Love and Sheffield grandparents went to a great deal of trouble so that their Joeloved Beth Ann could have the best birthday ever. At the other end of the first year is the darlin' daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Lyman Condie who just came to town last week. That makes two girls and a boy for Lyman and his wife, the former for-mer Mary Skidmore. The Condie home it at 1086 Wilson avenue. Big news in the city commission council meetings this week was the new arrival in L. C. Romnoy's home. The attractive attrac-tive Mrs. Romney gave birth to a daughter over the week-end. They'll take her home to 1165 Fifteenth East St. , Emerson avenue had its share of new arrivals this week ... it was a hoy for the Henry H. Faulkners at 2172 Emerson and a girl for Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Buckway, 1646 Emerson, i ... It was fancy fixings for the tea which Mrs. Chauncey G. Parry, 1976 Clairmont Way, gave at her home Thursday. The occasion was planned in honor of Mrs. Parry's two nieces who have announced their engagements. Miss Beverly Young will become be-come the bride of Leland Don Halvorsen, August 13 in the Salt Lake Temple. Her sister, Donna, will marry Donald Stanley Cook on September 19. There will be a Temple ceremony also." Don is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Cook, 4049 Hyland Drive, so that means all of you folks have a right to be more than interested in-terested in this wedding. Mrs. Alex P. Anderson, 2195 Walker's Lane, will entertain for both brides at her beautiful country home. |
