May your trip be a pleasant one and perhaps per-haps you can .give us a report on Lions International and the other clubs when you return. At our last business meeting we had in attendance Frank Cundiff, J. Paulas, J. E. Buck-waiter Buck-waiter and Franz Westover from the telephone co., and Glen Stanley of the Salt Lake City i :;nes. Mr. .Paulas gave us a number of pointers on how to use our phone in our business and private lives and an equally large number of don'ts in the use of the telephone. After Mr. Paulas' discussion Mr. Cundiff spoke brieflv on the outlook for Holladay and the suburban areas for some relief of our present service. We were informed that as soon as equipment is available avail-able we will have an enlarged service of the metropolitan class that should take care of all ou. needs. He was not sure as to whether it would be dial or manual man-ual but informed us that this depended on what type of equipment was made available. Mr. Cundiff also assured us that when the project to widen 48th So. above the boulevard was ready, the phone company would go along with us and move their building back to conform with the proposed 50-foot 50-foot street. Mr. . Stanley informed us that a survey was under way at the present time and that any and all changes to be made in our present bus service would be announced in the near future, but that he could and would assure us that we would have adequate ade-quate service, including express service during peak loads, larger larg-er buses, and benches at bus stops. |
