Show Lovely Home Reception Honors Newlyweds At the lovely home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton L. Christensen, 2261 Parley's Way, hosts of friends gathered Thursday evening to extend congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wayne Schaar, who were married that morning in the Salt Lake Temple. Tem-ple. The bride was Shirley Rae Christensen, and the groom the son of Mrs. Marval Schaar, 2579 Elm Ave., and 0. John Schaar of Denver. For her reception the lovely young bride chose to wear a gown of imported lace over cream taffeta, fashioned with long sleeves, a full skirt and a cathedral-length train- Her veil was fastened to a Email cap of matching lace over taffeta taf-feta trimmed with nylon pleat ing and orange blossoms. She carried a white lace fan with pink rosebuds and ribbon streamers. Mrs. Marvin R. Curtis was matron of honor and Miss Dorothy Doro-thy Schaar maid fa honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Kathryn Curtis. Miss LeNore Neely; Miss Genevieve Christensen, Chris-tensen, junior bridesmaid, and Mercia Curtis, flower girl. Their gowns were of pale blue and yellow organdy, styled with ankle-length skirts, small puffed sleeves and deep V'd necklines. They wore matching cloche caps and carried matching fans trimmed with yellow and blue carnations. Creed Haymond stood as best man for the groom. Ushers were Milton A. Christensen, John Schaar, Dee Curtis, Ted Kjar and Dean Piatt. Mrs. Christensen chose a gown of poudre-blue crepe with a corsage of pink carnations for her daughter's reception. Mrs. Schaar chose a gown of old rose crepe and lace, and wore a corsage of vanda or-chids. or-chids. At present the young couple are honeymooning in the southern south-ern parks and Las Vegas. The bride's going-away suit was of blue shantung with a matching hat and wihite accessories. Mrs. Schaar, mother of the groom, honored the young couple cou-ple with a wedding breakfast at the Lion House social center immediately following their morning marriage. Salt Lake will be the home for the young couple when they return from their trip. |
