Show Don't Let the Greenery Die MORE than a thousand dollars worth of green grass, shrubs and trees on a city-owned parking east of 13th East on 21st South is being burned out and destroyed for lack of water and proper care. Residents of the area and commuters who take, that route in their daily travels have been disturbed during the past several sev-eral weeks as they have seen the green growth slowly turn brown and die. Formerly when it was properly cared for the parking gave a lovely touch to that part of the Sugar House area. It is difficult to understand why the city parks department depart-ment has been so careless. It certainly, is not. time consum- . ing to turn the water on each day and to mow the grass once each week. The whole parking area is hardly larger than , a homeowner's lot. Apparently cify officials need a reminder of their negli- . gence. It is hoped that southeasterners will use their phones to register a protest over the damaging of this green and lovely spot in Sugar House. |
