Virtually every member of the Sugar House chamber of commerce was participating in the gala sales stimulating event. Sugar was being given as a bonus to all who shopped in Sugar House, whether they were buying buckets or beans, candy or carpets, paints or portiers. The chamber of commerce, with the cooperation of Utah-Idaho Sugar company, sponsored the Sugar Days, by far the most successful suc-cessful such campaign which this week marks its fifth anniversary. The high good spirit of the Sugar Days was expected to reflect from the merchants to the customers as the program gets underway. As usual, high quality merchandise merchan-dise at more than reasonably low prices added as much as the Sugar bonuses to induce the public to turn out enmasse to buy, and the net three days should see sales volumes hit Christmas time peak. |
