Show Don B. Colton Tells of Lincoln Abraham Lincoln, the great emancipator, whose birthday anniversary an-niversary occurred Wednesday, was discussed by former congressman congress-man Don B. Colton before members mem-bers of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce at the monthly luncheon of the group held Wednesday Wed-nesday noon. Mr. Colton was introduced by Wendell Ashton, president of the organization, and he had outlined several major things that went to make up the life and habits of Lincoln. His love of education, his struggle strug-gle to gain it and the very human and reasonable way in which he delt with all his problems, both as a lawyer and a president of the United States, made Lincoln the great man he was in the minds of his fellow countrymen, Mr. Colton stated. C. of C. Members Vote For Extra Meeting Casting a three to one- vote in favor of holding two meetings each month instead of just one, members of the club voiced their opinions Wednesday at the noon meeting of the group. After counting the votes, President Presi-dent Wendell Ashton stated that a plan of arranging the extra meeting of the board of directors, which is scheduled for Thursday evening, February 20th, at the Sugar House Library. Several other matters will be taken up at this board meeting, Mr. Ashton said, that will require the opinions of all directors. |
