Show Rehearsals for Opera to Begin Feb. 20 The Salt Lake Opera Association Associa-tion Orchestra under the leadership leader-ship of Henry Miller Jr., will commence rehearsing for the coming com-ing Spring operetta, "The Merry Widowt by Franz Lehar, February Febru-ary 20th, Thursday evening at 8 p. m. in the Recreation Room, City and County Building is announced an-nounced by Jessie Schofield in charge of the Operax Production. This is the third year of the organization of these talented young musicians, organized especially espec-ially for playing for the Salt Lake Opera Association of which Mr. Wallace F. Bennett is president. presi-dent. These musicians are thrilled thril-led with the selection the Opera Board made choosing "The Merry Widow" operetta which .will be one of the finest musical plays ever presented in Salt Lake City. Mr. Miller is being assisted by Dorothy Trimbel and Barbara Shurtliff, with Sarah Castle as pianist. The leads and chorus of the operetta are already rehearsing under the under the Baton of Mr. Albert J. Southwick, director of the operetta with Harry R. Allen as dramatic director. This musical musi-cal play will be the outstanding attraction this spring being presented pre-sented at the South High School on April 9, 10, 11, and 12th. |
