Show BAND HONORS LEADER WITH FINE TOKEN John Omanson of Provo Honor Hon-or Guest at Large Springrille Party The members of the Springville band motored to the home of their director, John Omanson, at Provo, last Saturday evening nnd surprised him by playing in front of his home. After Mr. Omanson had sufficiently suffi-ciently collected himself to fully realize that he was not having a dream, he was placed in one of the cars and taken to Springville, where another surprise was awaiting him by the band members, their wives and mothers at the Third, ward amusement ball. Here they hod prepared a very excellent luncheon for the sixty or more guests. Ralph Sneison, acting as toast-master, toast-master, introduced the g,uest of honor .and in behalf of the hand members presented him with a gold ring as a token of appreciation for his services, nnd for what had been accomplished nt Lagoon by winning the first prize in the interniountaiu band contest. The program of the evening was ns follows : Vocal solo by Elmo Coffman; address by M. E. Crandall, Cran-dall, Jr.; vocal solo by Miss Margaret Mar-garet Jepperson of Provo ; reading by Mrs. Frank Salisbury; trombone solo by Wm. Parry, accompanied by J. George Barrett; step dance by Drum Major Ed Rich ; cornet solo by Ralph Weight; a response by Mr. Omanson, after which the remainder re-mainder of the evening was spent in dancing. |
