Show ; HOSPITAL HAS GOOD RECORD IN SEPTEMBER Waterworks System for Institution In-stitution A early Completed, Says Superintendent. Dr. Frederick Dunn, superintendent superinten-dent of the state mental hospital has submitted the following monthly month-ly report to the state board of insanity in-sanity regarding the conditions of . the hopital during the month of Septemlxr : On September 1 we hnd 729 regularly regu-larly committed and 11 voluntary patients, or a total of 740 under care and treatment in our institution.- During the month 22 regular and 8 voluntary patients or a total of 30 were admitted. 22 regular and 6 voluntary patients were discharged dis-charged and 6 regular patients died, leaving a total of 723 regularly committed and 14 voluntary patients, pa-tients, or a total of 737 patients remaining re-maining on October 1. "We have sent to the state treasurer for fees and other cash receipts during the month of September Sep-tember $3,472.10. "Our patients' fund had a balance of cash on hand on September 1 ot $753.73. During the month we received re-ceived $140.50 and disbursed $107.75, leaving a balance on October 1 of $S02.54. "Other disbursements fpr September Septem-ber were as follows From salaries and wages account $7.677.18 ; office expense $54.72 ; travel $71.2S ; maintenance main-tenance $S,001.09; equipment, $64; for developing water system and consrtucing pipe line $2,o2S, or a total of $19,050.05. "The health of the patients during dur-ing the past month has been generally gen-erally good. There has been only the usual ailments that would be expected from a similar number ot people anywhere in the state. Other than minor injuries and minor ailments ail-ments the health of the patients has been very good. There have been six deaths during the month , two mnlle and four females. The causes of death were as follows : one from strangulation (intentional). two from epilepsy, one from exhaustion of feebleminded, one from exhaustion exhaus-tion of insane and one from general paresi. "We have been quite busy during the month getting exhibits ready for our county and state fairs gathering in our farm crops and working on the new waterworks system, sys-tem, which we are happy to state, is now nearly complete. We have also completed a pipe line to another spring 600 feet above the Boardman spring and are now extending ex-tending this line to a large spring 3,200 feet farther up the canyon. The general condition of the hospital hos-pital seems to be satisfactory in all departments." |
