Show CARAVAN AT SPRINGVILLE The Coolidge-Dawes caravan, on the cross-continental tour, following the Lincoln highway from Coulidge's ; birthplace to the Pacific coast, stopped in Springville Tuesday morning, October 14, and Senator l'itt of Iowa made a five-minute talk from the steps of the Springville Spring-ville bank. Senator Pitt declared that the industries in-dustries of the United States were always fired and running , at full capacity under Kepubliean protective protec-tive tariff, while under Democratic tariff for revenue purposes only, the American laborer suffered unemployment unem-ployment because of the competition of imported goods which are manufactured manu-factured by foreign cheap labor. Members of the caravan were greeted on their arrival by prominent promi-nent party leaders of Springville, including Frank Celventra, precinct pre-cinct chairman ; Mrs. Eliza Thorn, vice chairman ; John Kindred, secretary, sec-retary, and a number of the executive execu-tive committee and members of the Ladies' Kepubliean club. I. E. Brockbank of Prove, Kepubliean county chairman of Utah county, accompauied the caravan to Springville Spring-ville from Provo and continued on to Spanish Fork. |
