Show PRAISES SCOUT COMMISSIONER Boy Scout Official Lauds Work of Dr. Carl F. Eyring. Vaughan MacCaughey, noted lecturer, lec-turer, educator and scientist, as well as director of education of the twelfth region, Boy Scouts of America, Amer-ica, has been in Provo and Utah county for the past two or three days assisting in putting over the Timpanogos district council's drive for fluids. Mr. MacCaughey will visit Salt Lake, Ogdcn and Logan this week after which he will return re-turn to Utah county next Tuesday to ba present for the older scouts conference which will be held here for three days next week. He expressed himself as being very well pleased with the conditions condi-tions he lias found in this council. The work of Dr. Carl F. Eyring, scout commissioner of the council, at the Brigham Young university was especially note worthy, the visitor visi-tor declared. "I went out with Dr. Eyring and his class in scouting the other evening" even-ing" Mr. MacCaughey said, "and I found the men of the university he-1 ing trained in the fundamentals of j scouting in a very splendid manner, j They had their camp up near Uni-1 vorsity Hill and there they were practicing scouting, the only good way of learning the art I am going go-ing to recommend Dr. Ey ring's methods to many other councils and instit utions of higher learning. I think he has struck something that is really good' in scouting." Mr. MacCaughey has been connected con-nected with Chautauqua work, but is at present a member of the extension ex-tension division1 of the University of California. He is also a member of the National Council, Boy Scouts' of America. WOMEN C RITICALLY ILL. SPANISH FORK. Oct., 10.
