Show HONOR FORMER STUDENT OFT Joseph S. Carroll Speaker at Coast Convention Electrical Engineers. PALO ALTO, Cal., Oct., 13. Joseph S. Carroll, formerly a student stu-dent of the Brigham Xoung university univer-sity and now doing graduate work at Stanford in electrical engineering; engineer-ing; will attend the Pacific .coast conventiin of the American Institute Insti-tute of Electrical Engineers - to be held a Pasadena, Cal., October 13-17 and will participate in the discussions discus-sions of lire convention. The honor has come to Mr. Carroll Car-roll on account of the w-ork done by him in connection with T. F. Peterson Peter-son and G. S. Stray in their high voltage studies at Stanford. A paper which was written by these students on 'Power Measurements at High Voltage and Low Power Factors" is a summary of their thesis work, in which they have further fur-ther developed by the locution and elimination of errors, a high voltage wattmeter originated by Professor Kvan of Stanford. It is possible with this wattmeter to measure power as low as one watt at voltages volt-ages as higli as 175.000 volts. The paper will lie read liy Professor Pro-fessor Iiyan. Mr. Carroll is scheduled sched-uled for the discussion of another paper to be read nt the convention. He is a brother of Dr. Hardy Carroll Car-roll of Provo. |
